Collection: Ashoka Stambh

The Ashoka Stambh is a national emblem of India, which consists of a lion capital, four lions facing different directions, representing power, courage, and confidence. These pillars are a symbol of ancient Indian architecture and reflect the spread of Bodhisattva during Ashoka's rule. The most notable among these pillars is the Lion Capital of Ashoka, which has been adopted as the National Emblem of India.

Lion Capital:

The Lion Capital, found at Sarnath, features four lions sitting back-to-back.

Below the lions, a circular abacus shows four smaller animals (a lion, elephant, horse, and bull) separated by wheels (Dharma Chakras), symbolizing the spread of dharma.

Inscriptions:

Many Ashoka Pillars have inscriptions in Brahmi script.

The inscriptions convey messages about morality, dharma (righteousness), and Ashoka's edicts promoting non-violence and compassion.

The Ashoka Chakra, a wheel with 24 spokes depicted in the Lion Capital, is featured in the center of the Indian National Flag, symbolizing movement, progress, and righteousness.
