Etikopaka Handpainted Wooden Farmer Couple Dolls Traditional Andhra Village Life Figurines

Bring the warmth of rural Andhra Pradesh into your home with this exquisite set of Etikopaka handpainted wooden farmer couple dolls. This beautifully crafted set portrays the everyday grace of Indian village life, the woman dressed in a rich green saree with white floral motifs, elegantly balancing a terracotta pot on her head, and the man in a green dhoti and red turban, carrying a traditional white plough over his shoulder.

Hand-turned on a lathe and finished with natural vegetable dyes and lac, these figurines glow with warm golden skin tones, vivid costume colours, and fine detailing from the woman's delicate jewellery and bindi to the man's rustic farming tool. The movable, jointed arms add a lifelike, interactive quality to these timeless folk art pieces. Sold as a set of 2.

The Ancient Art of Etikopaka- India's GI-Tagged Lacware Craft

Etikopaka wooden toys are one of India's most treasured GI-tagged (Geographical Indication) handicrafts, crafted exclusively by artisans of Etikopaka village in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. The craft involves hand-turning soft wood on a traditional lathe and finishing with natural lac (shellac) and vegetable dyes — resulting in signature vivid, glossy colours that are 100% eco-friendly and safe for all ages.

Each piece is individually crafted by skilled master artisans, making every doll truly one of a kind. By purchasing this product, you directly support the livelihoods of traditional Etikopaka craft families.
