The Ancient Art of Etikopaka- India's GI-Tagged Lacware Craft
Etikopaka wooden toys are one of India's most treasured GI-tagged (Geographical Indication) handicrafts, made exclusively by artisans of Etikopaka village in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. The craft involves hand-turning soft wood on a traditional lathe and finishing with natural lac (shellac) and vegetable dyes, resulting in signature vivid, glossy colours that are 100% eco-friendly and safe for all ages.
Each piece in this musician's set is individually hand-carved and painted, making the complete ensemble a rare and valuable example of collaborative Etikopaka craftsmanship at its finest.
